SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alto Pharmacy (“Alto”), a patient-centric telehealth pharmacy committed to health and wellbeing, today announced the launch of a new mobile app for clinical teams and prescribers called Alto Connect.
“We hear two things from clinical teams: patients' health comes first and there are more demands on their time than ever before. Alto Connect helps them with both at the same time”
The Alto Connect mobile app is the next evolution of Alto’s custom-built provider communications center, formerly known as AltoMD. Alto was the first pharmacy in the United States to offer a prescriber-focused pharmacy communication platform when the original desktop-based AltoMD product was launched in March 2016. Since then, more than 500 doctors offices in the 12 Alto markets have integrated Alto Connect into their daily workflows and prescription management.
“We hear two things from clinical teams: patients' health comes first and there are more demands on their time than ever before. Alto Connect helps them with both at the same time," said Matt Gamache-Asselin, co-founder of Alto Pharmacy. “Since founding Alto in 2016, we’ve been focused on building a better model for a pharmacy, and that means providing a better experience for both consumers and clinical teams. That better pharmacy experience is realized for the doctors, nurses, medical assistants and other staff at doctor’s offices across our communities through Alto Connect.
”With Alto Connect, clinical staff save time, have unmatched visibility into prescription status, and partner with Alto on insurance approvals and other issues to deliver improved medication-based outcomes for their patients. To better support the hectic, on-the-go nature of today’s healthcare environment, Alto Connect’s mobile experience provides even greater flexibility and convenience for prescribers and their teams as they monitor prescriptions. Alto Connect users have an end-to-end view of all prescriptions being filled at Alto Pharmacy, including delivery status, out-of-pocket costs and refills; can send quick message-based responses to pharmacy questions instead of the friction of a phone call; and receive alerts when a prescription needs extra attention.
“The Alto Connect mobile application was the natural evolution of our technology suite, and it allows us to act as an extension of the doctor’s office,” said Assaf Ohana, VP of Product at Alto Pharmacy. “In addition to our consumer mobile app and our purpose-built pharmacy operations platform, taking the Alto Connect desktop experience into the hands and mobile devices of our clinical partners was the obvious next innovation.”
Prescribers and clinical staff members who work with Alto Pharmacy can move seamlessly between the desktop and mobile Alto Connect experiences throughout their day. The addition of the mobile interface allows for pharmacy messaging on-the-go and tailored push notifications on prescriptions requiring additional review by the clinical team. Alto Connect can be set up in just minutes and does not require any data integrations or software.
